Wheeler Farms Winery is a thoughtfully designed Napa Valley winery that reinterprets traditional California agricultural architecture through a contemporary lens. Conceived as an engineered steel building with a carefully crafted palette of wood, steel, and concrete, the project was driven by the client's vision of creating a winery that feels like an authentic working farm. The design balances a modest physical footprint with substantial production capacity, delivering an efficient winery operation while maintaining a welcoming and highly visible street presence. Historic agricultural forms inspired the architecture, resulting in a building that feels rooted in Napa's farming heritage while presenting a fresh, modern character.

The winery's primary public space is the tasting room, which provides visitors with an immersive experience connected to the winemaking process. Adjacent production areas, including the fermentation room and expansive barrel cellar below, showcase the operational heart of the winery while reinforcing the building's agricultural authenticity. By locating fermentation activities directly above the large barrel storage areas, the design maximizes efficiency within a compact structure. The result is a high-capacity Napa winery that seamlessly combines hospitality, production, and timeless California farm-inspired architecture.
